Back from the North!!!

Felt good to be back on the flats yesterday after a quick trip to Indianapolis for a fly fishing show and presentation at FlyMasters of Indianapolis. I was joined by Bill and Alex from Long Island, NY who came down to run the Disney half marathon. This was their first trip to Mosquito Lagoon and we went right at these fish.

The conditions were a little tough to start with 15knot winds out of the North, but as the day went on they kept improving. These guys had some good shots at tailing redfish with the fly rod and also landed four nice trout on light tackle.

With about an hour to go in the trip the winds laid down a bit, so I headed to one of my favorite afternoon tailing flats. It was not two minutes on the flat and the tails started to waving. Alex was up first and had several shots at beautiful tails, but no takers!! Bill was up next and made a great presentation to a school of five tailers and it was fish on!!! His first redfish on fly came to the boat after four great runs. What a way to finish their first trip to the Lagoon. Nice work guys and I look forward to fishing with you again on your next trip to Orlando.

I have a couple of days open this week if your interested in hitting the water.
Give me call or email to book your trip!!!
