Mosquito Lagoon is located within the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge just east of Titusville, Florida. This unique saltwater estuary is forty plus miles long and about five miles at its widest point. Mosquito Lagoon is known for it crystal clear water and miles of shallow, pristine grass flats. The Lagoon is bordered on the east by Canaveral National Seashore and on the west by Merritt Island, and is connected to the Indian River Lagoon by the Haulover Canal. This makes for very unique watershed and fishery.

Mosquito Lagoons water quality is very good and the salinity levels are equal to levels in the Atlantic Ocean, 32 parts per thousand. Because of this salinity level, it is one of the only places in the world where Redfish live and spawn in the same waters. In all other areas Redfish must go to the ocean to get the correct salinity for propagation. What does this mean? Mosquito Lagoon has thousands of Redfish and many fish that exceed forty pounds. Several state and world records for Redfish on fly have been set in Mosquito Lagoon.

Mosquito Lagoon is also home to hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife, which just adds to the overall fishing experience. If you are looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a peaceful day on the water, then you have found the right spot. The fishing is incredible and the scenic beauty is just as stunning. I truly feel blessed to be able to call this my office and I look forward to sharing this wonderful place with you. Come and experience it for yourself!
